Do you have a fire hazard in your house? It could be the dryer vents!
Over time your dryer vent fills with lint that get by your dryer filters. As the lint builds up, the dryer works harder and starts to overheat. Then your dryer ducts become a fire hazard. Sound ridiculous?
It is estimated that 7 out of 10 home have dryers. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that in 1998, clothes dryers were associated with 15,600 fires, which resulted in 20 deaths and 370 injuries. Fires can occur when lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust duct. Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in some dryers.
